The Canarian Foundation Carrera por la Vida – Walk for Life has been chosen by the Think Pink Europe network, which gathers multiple associations and initiatives aimed to fight breast cancer in 30 different countries, to be the only organizer in Spain of the “RACE FOR THE CURE”, the most far-reaching digital race in the European continent.
Given the situation resulting from COVID19, on the 25th, 26th and 27th of September social networks will become the means to unite Europe in a digital race. This race will raise funds and give visibility to our fight, and in particular, those actions aimed to raise awareness and solidarity against breast cancer.
Under the motto “This year we walk with the heart“, the Race for Life Foundation teams up with the RACE FOR THE CURE to reach the objective of collecting funds and efforts on behalf of and for people affected by breast cancer, collaborating with the following institutions and projects:
1.- FERO research at Hospital CLINIC Barcelona addressed to the “TILS tumour-infiltrating Lymphocyte Transfer Research Project”.
2.- Research at Clínica Universitaria de Navarra in Madrid addressed to the “Sentinel Node Biopsy Research & Lymphedema Risk Project”.
3.- AECC association: “KM Solidary Project” to transport oncology patients from the south of Tenerife to hospitals located in the north of the island.
4.- AMATE association: “Solidary Areolas Project” for the recovery of breast appearance employing micro-pigmentation.
5.- FABISO: For the production of swimwear with custom-made prostheses.
6.- Sunrise Brain: Project aimed to study the effect of chemotherapy treatment on patient memory.
7.- Pequeño Valiente association: Addressed to their project “Day Hospital for children undergoing cancer treatment”.
And those projects carried out directly by Walk For Life Foundation:
1.- BRA Project: Delivery of brand new post-mastectomy personalized bras.
2.- LINFA Project: Economic aid with lymph sleeves to patients with lymphedema.
3.- Sala Rosa/Pink Room: Program of physical activities, awareness workshops and training sessions for people after their oncological treatment.
CARRERA POR LA VIDA Foundation teams up with the THINK PINK EUROPE network to carry out the RACE FOR THE CURE, the race for breast cancer to support research, solidarity and awareness actions.
