Delivered to the Children´s Oncology Service of the Hospital Universitario de La Candelaria, a consignment of turbans and scarves with children´s sizes
The Walk for Life Foundation, with the support of Fundación La Caixa, has delivered to the Children´s Oncology Service of the Hospital Universitario de La Candelaria, a consignment of turbans and scarves with children´s sizes, which have materials and anatomical shapes specifically for the little ones, and with graphic designs and motifs that make the hard process of hair loss in girls and boys affected by childhood cancer a little easier.
Among the most frequent effects of cancer treatment is hair loss, which has a significant effect on the psychological health and emotional state of the little ones, as well as hypersensitivity in the head area caused by the absence of of hair.
Walk for Life Foundation has acquired scarves and turbans that have sanitary certification and are adapted to the infant cancer process, being able to choose between a variety of fabrics with greater or lesser thickness depending on their sensitivity, or even with designs and colours adapted to the season of the year. With sun protection for the summer and in winter with more protection from the cold, and even from the rain.
The “Scarves For Life” project also has sizes and models for adults with breast cancer that can be requested free of charge at the PINK ROOM, the Foundation´s headquarters in Adeje, or by email on info@carreraporlavida.org.
