Cardboard containers to support Walk For Life at the Adeje City Council
The Adeje City Council is an institution committed to Carrera por la Vida from the beginning and provides a municipal space for the Foundation to have the Pink Room, to receive people affected with breast cancer and serve as a meeting and info centre. Expanding on this commitment, the Department of Health directed by Amada Trujillo and the Department of Services in charge of Esther Rivero, have launched a distribution of pink containers for the collection of paper in the municipal offices and premises, which have been donated by International Paper, whose objective is to support and contribute to the awareness carried out by the WALK FOR LIFE Foundation.
International Paper is one of the world’s leading producers of fiber and cellulose pulp packaging, with more than 38,000 employees and more than 20,000 customers worldwide. The company’s philosophy is marked by sustainability and by improving the lives of people and the planet through the transformation of renewable resources into products for daily use.
Recently and for the second consecutive year, the Carrera por la Vida Foundation was in charge of coordinating the RACE FOR THE CURE in Spain, the largest European event organised for the benefit of breast cancer patients. The work of the Foundation in this European digital race resulted in positioning itself in the fifth country in number of participants and in impact on social networks. This success caught the attention of the multinational International Paper, which contacted the Foundation to congratulate it on its work. After learning about the 16-year history of the Carrera por la Vida Foundation, International Paper approved an economic donation of 4,500 euros and the manufacture of a series of containers for collecting paper with a pink ribbon as an instrument of awareness and promotion.
