Official presentation of the XIV edition of Carrera por la Vida
Today was held at the Hotel Victoria GF Hotels, with the presence of the mayors of the Town Hall of Adeje and Town Hall of Arona, our sponsor of this year Agoney, and the creator of the Brigitte Gypen Foundation, the XIV Edition of Carrera por la Vida – Walk for Life 2018. The call has served as a framework to present the sponsor of the next Race for La Vida, singer Agoney, who expressed his satisfaction at being able to sponsor an event that, according to him, “is very important for me, it’s not the first time I’ve participated, and I’ve been singing for other years“. Agoney also appears in the Voices for Life Calendar, where his image with the message Heart is very, very special.
In the last edition, Carrera por la Vida – Walk for Life brought together more than 4,600 people participating and 20,000€ was raised for the fight against cancer. This year we will try to pass the 5000 walking through Life. But we will not only walk because we will also encourage dancing: a flashmob with choreography by LUSANFIT was presented, and as a preview we could see our new mascot dancing. The video produced altruistically by Edición Sur Comunicación in collaboration with Lusanfit, can be seen on Vimeo and on our website.
It was also announced the journey of this year’s walk, as the news of the elimination of balloons, instead replaced by fabric banners, as support for environmental campaigns at the international level.
Our president explained the destination of the money collected, such as research projects (liquid biopsy research etc), the BRA project, Km Solidario transport, among others). New projects concerning the lymphedema problem and the lack of oncological physiotherapy will be the objectives for the year 2019.
The message is always clear: awareness, early detection, help those who are having a bad time, and always keep fighting.
